Dr Rita Chorba, DPT

Rita is passionate about human performance and keeping people strong and resilient. A native of Cleveland, OH, Rita earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Baldwin Wallace University, a master’s degree in physical therapy from Cleveland State University, and a master’s degree in athletic training from the University of Findlay. She continued her education by earning a doctorate in physical therapy from Texas Tech University.

Rita is the co-owner of ALPHA Performance & Recovery, a health and fitness company dedicated to the needs of physically-active adults and athletes. She is a Board-Certified Specialist is Sports Physical Therapy (SCS), a certified athletic trainer (ATC), and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Her philosophy involves looking at the whole person and finding creative and personalized strategies to help people achieve their physical performance goals.

Rita started her career working at the University of Arizona, last serving as Head Athletic Trainer for Track and Field and Cross Country. She transitioned from a career in sports to serving the active duty military population as a direct access civilian physical therapist. During her eight years with US Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command, Rita served as Lead Tactical Physical Therapist for 2nd Marine Raider Battalion, and Lead Tactical Physical Therapist for the Marine Raider Training Center aboard Camp Lejeune, NC.

Rita’s work has been featured in several publications, including the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy, the Journal of Special Operations Medicine, the International Society of Sports Nutrition, and the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. She is a contributing columnist to the US Marine Raider Association Raider Patch Magazine and writes about maintaining physical resilience for career longevity.

Dave specializes in helping physically-active people bridge the gap from injury to optimum performance. A native of Cleveland, OH, Dave earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Baldwin Wallace University, a master’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Akron, and a master’s degree in athletic training from the University of Findlay.

Dave is co-owner of ALPHA Performance & Recovery, a health and fitness company dedicated to the needs of physically-active adults and athletes. He is a certified athletic trainer (ATC) and a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). He specializes in helping clients bridge the gap between injury recovery and optimum performance to achieve their physical fitness goals.

Dave started his career in the fitness industry, serving as Fitness Director at one of Cleveland’s premier fitness centers. He transitioned to collegiate athletics, working as a Strength & Conditioning Coach for several teams at the University of Arizona, including Track and Field and Baseball. He also served as the Head Athletic Trainer for rugby and lacrosse at the University of Arizona.

Dave served in several civilian roles as both a Strength & Conditioning Coach and Athletic Trainer for the military. He directed injury reconditioning, strength and conditioning, and educational programs for the US Marine Corps, the US Navy, and the US Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command aboard Camp Lejeune, NC.

Dave’s work has been featured in the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy, the International Society of Sports Nutrition, and the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.
